IS4S offers a novel and unique system design agent acquisition strategy where our team conducts market research through engagement with multiple industry teams, converges the best capabilities from each offering, and combines them into a government-owned technical data package (TDP). IS4S can then manufacture the capability, or the government can select whichever company they deem best to do so.

This design agent concept merges competing designs, allowing the customer the best-in-class design approach for performance and production. It also eliminates vendor lock by providing ownership of the design which enables the customer to compete production on the open market.

Case Study: BLU-136/B

One of our team’s first design agent approach efforts was the development of the Next Generation Area Attack Weapon (NGAAW) BLU-136/B warhead. Fulfilling the core basis of the design agent approach, we developed the best solution using open-source software and non-proprietary designs to create a government-owned technical data package (TDP). We rapidly developed, tested, and qualified the BLU-136/B warhead allowing the U.S. Air Force to release the full rate production RFP in just 24 months from the start of the program.
