We support numerous hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) and software-in-the loop (SIL) labs that help verify and validate software for customers.  

Similarly, we use these labs to mitigate risks to the customer by analyzing results against physics-based simulations and models and testing results. 

Our mechanical designers use additive manufacturing approaches to validate enclosure designs and to dry-fit many pieces and parts during the design phase in order to minimize changes required during integration. 

Open systems architectures and modularity are the backbone of our software development efforts.  

We utilize MBSE approaches to maximize interface definition and data definitions to augment exchange of proper information without proprietary pieces, which simplifies changing of components and subsystems. Isolation of complex functions via well-defined fire control algorithms also helps avoid inadvertent coupling across interfaces. 

IS4S has undertaken extensive integration efforts of adapting launchers to work with new or different munitions.  

Our recent work includes, but it is not limited to, the PAC-2, PAC-3, PAC-3 MSE, AIM-9X, Stinger, AI3, MHTK, Tamir, and Hellfire. 

We have supported many ground-based launch systems with integrated fire control systems over the years, including Multiple Launcher Rocket System (MLRS), Multi-Mission Launcher (MML), PATRIOT Launcher, Palletized Field Artillery Launcher (PFAL), Autonomous Mobile Launcher (AML), and Rogue Fires. 

Our electronics and software design teams work closely with our customers to provide unique combinations of commercial and custom hardware that utilize high-speed field-programmable gate array (FPGA)-driven controls to provide unprecedented safety, speed, and return on investment in challenging environments.  We have supported complete line replaceable unit (LRU) development, from board and electronics design to the enclosure development, integration, and testing with larger systems. 

We primarily support embedded software design and development via agile practices for the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration (S3I) Directorate. Synchronizing the process with systems engineering and test teams via scaled agile framework (SAFe) or other scaling approaches like rational unified process (RUP) allows for broader team integration for successful execution of programs. 

Our team has supported the development, integration, and fielding of numerous command and control (C2) systems for the Army and Air Force.  

Our work includes contributions to JBC-P, IBCS, FAAD C2, and MEDUSA. 

Systems engineering and integration are a strength of the IS4S Redstone division. Both traditional and model-based approaches have been executed across numerous programs. We have expertise to provide extensive services including concept definition, analysis of alternatives, requirements definition, decomposition, verification, validation, and fielding support and sustainment.  

We have structured our efforts to support the Army Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC) team in a way to ensure the government integrator acts as design agent.

This method minimizes vendor lock and improves the cost of the systems.
