The IS4S electromagnetics team specializes in the design, development, and testing of high voltage pulse power and directed energy weapons (DEW) systems for both offensive and defensive applications. This work includes counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UAS), vehicle and vessel stopping, electronic warfare (EW), high-power microwave (HPM), and electromagnetic pulse (EMP) efforts.
We have a proven track record of developing a wide range of systems with subject matter experts (SMEs) specializing in all aspects of development: target susceptibility and vulnerability analysis; specification development and design; modeling and simulation; fabrication; and verification and validation testing.

Susceptibility & Vulnerability Analysis
IS4S specializes in the susceptibility and vulnerability analysis of a wide range of electronic targets. With our in-house anechoic chamber, amplifiers, signal generators, and data acquisition systems, we offer one-stop testing and analysis for determining waveform parameters to generate the desired effects on targets of interest.
We also conduct radar cross section (RCS) testing of targets up to moderate power levels.
Pulse Power Systems
We have developed a wide range of pulse power systems, including custom flash x-ray (FXR) systems, large capacitive discharge units (CDU), firesets, vector inversion generators (VIGs), trigger generators, hermetically sealed spark switches, high-power GaN amplifiers, and plasma blasting systems. Our SMEs specialize in all aspects of electromagnetic system development, including:

These SMEs are supported by a state-of-the-art laboratory with the hardware and software to execute these tasks.
Directed Energy Weapons
We have multiple efforts focused on the design, development, and testing of DEWs, including HPM and EW systems and their subcomponents. These systems include C-UAS, vehicle and vessel stopping, and next generation EW. We have experience with the development of prime power sources, pulse conditioning, radio frequency (RF) converters, and radiating/antenna systems.
Our unique ability to miniaturize DEW allows employment for a wider range of applications.
