Jim Daniel

Jim Daniel is a co-founder of IS4S and has over 40 years of program management and engineering development experience in military and space systems development. He was the initiator of the idea and process to form IS4S. He has managed engineering organizations as chief engineer and as program manager for Army, Air Force, Navy, and company IR&D programs for advanced tactical missile, smart munitions, and unmanned air and ground vehicle programs.
Jim was the program manager on a commercial business development with the Russian space company, Energeia, to integrate payloads on the Russian Mir Space Station. He was program manager for the Enhanced Fiber Optic Missile concept development program. He was guidance and control manager for the Seek Spinner and Pave Tiger Unmanned Air Vehicle programs. He was chief engineer of Boeing’s Technology Applications organization where he led the team on the joint Air Force/Navy Inertial Guidance Technology Development (IGTD) program to integrate GPS with low-cost inertial measurement units to control modified “dumb bombs.” The JDAM program was derived from this successful program.
Jim was the recipient of a NASA top 10 new technology award for development of advanced data processing of Saturn V flight data. He was selected as The Boeing Aerospace Company employee of the year for development of the first digital autopilot to control an Army tactical missile. Jim is involved in numerous civic activities and has three technical publications and two patents.
