IS4S Awarded Contract for Advanced GPS Positioning System
Auburn, AL
IS4S announced that it has been awarded a $500,000 contract from the Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP) for the development of a GPS-based positioning system for geophysical surveys in heavy foliage environments. IS4S, in partnership with Auburn University and the Army Corp of Engineers Huntsville Center, will develop a software-defined GPS receiver that makes use of vector delay/frequency locked loops (VDFLL) to improve tracking performance in weak signal environments. The receiver will also incorporate inertial measurement units (IMU) and a chip-scale atomic clock (CSAC) in a deeply integrated (DI) architecture.
