IS4S Awarded Phase II SBIR to Develop Dismount Navigation Kit
Auburn, AL
Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) awarded IS4S a Direct-to-Phase II SBIR to develop a handheld navigation kit for use in GPS-challenged environments. When GPS is not available, the system will provide the warfighter with an accurate PNT solution, including an accuracy estimate, using inertial-based pedometry, vision, and RF ranges to other warfighters and military platforms. PNT and accuracy will be displayed on an Android end-user device (EUD). This data will be output in standard formats, such as NMEA. All additional components will be designed to be lightweight, have minimal intrusion to the warfighter, and capable of operating for at least 8 hours.
