Avionics PNT Solutions
Combining our position, navigation, and timing (PNT) and avionics expertise has enabled the development of these high-impact technologies:
cMSDR: IS4S's common modular software-defined radio (cMSDR) provides a modular open system design. It integrates customer-defined wave forms and can include additional capabilities like PNT, electromagnetic warfare, or ingestion of sensing data.
R-EGI: Our resilient-embedded global positioning system (GPS) inertial navigation system (INS), known as R-EGI, provides precise PNT even when GPS is contested via its M-code receiver and its integration of open system alternate navigation solutions.
Mission-Critical Software
IS4S is leading the development of mission-critical software that is designed to meet airworthiness requirements for operational systems. Using open systems approaches (such as pntOS and ASPN), this software is designed from the start to be adaptive to changing requirements and threats. This is achieved by breaking down the problem into isolated components that can be inserted or swapped out to effect changes with minimal impact on the rest of the software.
Stores Interface Units
We are utilizing our electronic expertise to develop and qualify the electronic stores interface unit (SIU) and the associated nuclear-certified harnesses necessary for the implementation of MIL-STD-1760 bus communications upgrades for the weapons carriage equipment (pylons and the internal rotary launcher) utilized on the B-52. This hardware is responsible for multiplexing the primary signals from the B-52 out to the weapons and must have a 30-year lifespan and be nuclear-weapon certified.
This work is enabled by our team’s deep experience in 1553 and 1760 communications system development, as well as an understanding of aircraft and weapon system communication, both internally and externally.
Logistics
We are collaborating with the Air Force Sustainment Center Software Group to problem-solve the supply chain obsolescence issues facing many fielded systems today.
Our logistics and sustainment support capability for Air Force programs is designed to ensure operational readiness and mission success. We provide comprehensive supply chain management, maintenance planning, and lifecycle support tailored to the unique needs of each program. Our team utilizes advanced analytics and real-time data to optimize inventory management and streamline logistics processes, reducing downtime and enhancing efficiency. By implementing robust sustainment strategies, we ensure that all systems and equipment are maintained to the highest standards, enabling seamless operations and rapid response to emerging challenges.
Reliability & Maintainability
Our reliability and maintainability support capability for Air Force programs focuses on enhancing system performance and longevity. We employ rigorous analysis and testing to identify potential failure modes and implement proactive solutions, ensuring optimal operational readiness. Our dedicated team works closely with program stakeholders to develop tailored maintenance strategies that reduce downtime and extend the lifecycle of equipment. By prioritizing reliability and maintainability, we empower the Air Force to achieve mission success with confidence, knowing their systems are dependable and well-supported.
